Discover Maine Maple Sunday Weekend: A Sweet Spring Tradition

Maine is one of the largest producers of maple syrup in the United States, and maple sugaring is deeply rooted in the state’s history and culture. Every spring, as winter loosens its grip, Mainers and visitors alike celebrate the start of maple sugaring season with Maine Maple Sunday Weekend—an annual event held on the fourth Sunday in March.

Maine Maple Sunday Weekend – March 22-23, 2025

For the 42nd year, the Maine Maple Producers Association invites you to join local maple syrup producers across the state to experience the magic of maple sugaring firsthand. On March 22-23, 2025, sugarhouses throughout Maine will open their doors to the public, offering free samples, tours, demonstrations, and fun-filled family activities.

What to Expect at Maine Maple Sunday

  • Maple Syrup Samples & Demonstrations – Learn how pure Maine maple syrup is made, from tree tapping to boiling.

  • Sugarbush Tours – Take a guided walk through a working sugarbush and see the trees being tapped.

  • Maple Treats & Products – Enjoy fresh maple products like maple candies, maple butter, maple cotton candy, and maple-glazed donuts.

  • Family-Friendly Activities – Many sugarhouses offer hayrides, farm tours, pancake breakfasts, and live music.
