The Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race 2025 is the largest paddling event in New England and one of the biggest in the United States. Held annually on the third weekend of April, this iconic 16.5-mile race draws paddlers and spectators from all over. The 2025 race promises another thrilling year of adventure, community, and competition.

The Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race is a celebrated spring tradition, offering a mix of calm waters and challenging rapids. Paddlers navigate 16.5 miles from Kenduskeag to Bangor, enjoying scenic views and an electric atmosphere. The race relies on the dedication of volunteer safety and support crews to ensure the event runs smoothly and participants remain safe.


How to Register:

Registration for the 2025 Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race is easy and available through multiple methods. Please note that telephone registration is NOT permitted.

  1. Online Registration:

  2. Mail, Fax, or Email Registration:

    • Download the 2025 entry and waiver form from the official site.

    • Complete and return the forms with payment by mail, fax, or email.

  3. In-Person Registration:

    • Visit the Bangor Parks & Recreation office during business hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).


Registration Fees:

  • $50 per paddler if registered by April 1st (early registration)

  • $65 per paddler if registering between April 2nd and April 10th

  • $75 per paddler for late registration (April 11th - April 19th)


Race Day Registration:

  • Date: April 19th, 2025

  • Location: Union Church, Kenduskeag Village

  • Time: 8:15 AM - 9:15 AM

  • Pre-Race Briefing: 9:45 AM

  • Payment: Cash or check only


Refund Policy:

  • Refunds requested before April 3rd will incur a $25 cancellation fee.

  • No refunds will be issued after April 4th, 2025.


Important Registration Notes: Even if you register online, you must submit a signed waiver form to the Bangor Parks & Recreation office by mail, email, or in person. Failure to provide the waiver will result in incomplete registration.


Race Classes:

The race offers multiple paddler classifications, and Bangor Parks & Recreation reserves the right to adjust classifications if necessary. Classes may be omitted if fewer than four boats register in a category. For detailed class descriptions, visit the Race Classes page.
