The 2025 Moosehead Lake Togue Derby is the event every angler in Maine has been waiting for! This annual ice fishing derby combines the thrill of fishing for lake trout (togue) with the breathtaking winter scenery of Moosehead Lake.   • Event Dates:
    • The derby runs from 12:01 AM on Friday, January 31, 2025, to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

    • Ensure you’re in line by 4:00 PM on February 2 to have your catch weighed.

  • Eligibility:
    • The derby is exclusively for lake trout (togue) caught in Moosehead Lake.

    • A valid entry ticket is required to participate. Purchase your ticket online or at local sales locations before the deadlines:

      • Old Town Trading Post: Sales end at 3:00 PM on January 31, 2025.

      • Other Locations/Internet Sales: End at 12:00 PM on February 1, 2025.

  • Weigh-In Stations:
    • Bartley Event Center (241 Pritham Ave), Greenville

    • Moosehead Bait and Tackle, Rockwood

    • Open during the following times:

      • Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

      • Saturday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

      • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Fishing Limits:
    • Participants must adhere to the legal bag limit for Moosehead Lake: 1 togue over 18 inches. Fish must be free of ice, snow, bait, and tackle before weighing.

  • Prizes:
    • 1st Place: $1,500

    • 2nd Place: $500

    • 3rd Place: $250

      Winning fish are ranked by weight, with length and weigh-in time serving as tiebreakers.

  • Door Prizes:
    • Additional drawings include prizes for children, such as a resident lifetime fishing license or $250.

  • Bonus Information:
    • Winners of special prizes must meet eligibility criteria, including age requirements and background checks.
